- Refer to Code No. P0335: Crank Angle Sensor System
- Refer to Code No. P0340: Camshaft Position Sensor System
- The engine-ECU monitors the signals input from the crank angle sensor and camshaft position sensor.
- The engine-ECU compares these input pulse signals to check the position relations for validity.
Check Conditions
- Battery positive voltage is 8 - 16 V
- One of the following two is true.
- Two seconds have passed after the ignition switch is turned on, the crank angle sensor and camshaft position sensor output signals are normal, and the engine rotation speed is 1,200 r/min or lower.
- Cranking is in progress, the engine rotation speed is 350 r/min or faster, and the engine coolant temperature is -30°C or higher.
Judgment Criterion
- The phase shift angle between the crank and camshaft position sensor signals exceeds its threshold value.
- Failed crank angle sensor
- Failed camshaft position sensor
- Failed timing chain
- Failed engine-ECU

Replace the engine-ECU. When the engine-ECU is replaced, write the chassis number (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Perform Chassis Number Writing ). After replacing the engine-ECU, register the injector identification code and learn fuel injection (Refer to GROUP 00 - Precautions Before Service - What The Common Rail Engine Learns ).
