Inspection Procedure 4: Although AS&G OFF Switch Pressed, AS&G System Not Switched




OPERATION




FUNCTION


Pressing the AS&G OFF switch can optionally turn OFF the AS&G system or turn ON the AS&G system.

COMMENT ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


The failure could possibly be caused by the failed ASC/AS&G OFF switch circuit and so on.

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list



  • Refer to Data List Reference Table .

    1. item 5: AS&G OFF switch

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check the ASC/AS&G OFF switch itself.



  • Check the AS&G OFF switch itself (Refer to ).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Replace the ASC/AS&G OFF switch.

STEP 3. Perform voltage measurement at AS&G OFF switch connector.



  • Disconnect connector, and measure at harness side.
  • Ignition switch: ON
  • Voltage between terminal ETACS-ECU IG11 line and earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s), or check of short to earth and open circuit in IG11 line between ETACS-ECU connector and AS&G OFF switch connector.

STEP 4. Check of harness damage in IG11 line between ETACS-ECU connector and AS&G OFF switch connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 5. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, open circuit and harness damage in ASGM line between AS&G OFF switch connector and AS&G-ECU connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 6. Check the trouble symptom.


Q. Does the trouble symptom persist?

Replace the AS&G-ECU.
