OSCILLOSCOPE INSPECTION PROCEDURES


With the connector remain connected, connect the oscilloscope probe to each terminal of CVT-ECU.

  • Selector lever position: D
  • Drive at a constant speed of approx. 20 km/h


  • Between 0 and 4.5 V, the pulse cycle is constant.
  • There must be no noise.

Primary pulley rotation sensor

Turbine speed sensor <Vehicles with idle neutral control>

  • Engine coolant temperature: 82°C or higher
  • CVT fluid temperature: 60 - 110°C
  • Air conditioner operation state: OFF
  • Catalyst not warming up
  • Selector lever position: D
  • No current engine, ABS/ASC, or CVT troubles
  • Vehicle stops after being driven at 10 km/h or higher
  • Accelerator pedal released.
  • Engine speed: 500 - 700 r/min
  • CVT gear ratio*: Low
  • On a level road
  • Brake pedal depressed solidly.
  • Time since vehicle stopped: approx. 1.0 second


  • Between 0 and 5.0 V, the pulse cycle is constant.
  • There must be no noise.



note *: If the vehicle stops suddenly, sometimes the gear ratio does not return completely to Low.
