ELECTRIC OIL PUMP AIR BLEEDING <VEHICLES WITH AS&G SYSTEM>

caution After any of the following work is done, it is necessary to bleed the air from the electric oil pump and oil paths.

  • CVT fluid draining and refilling
  • CVT fluid replacement
  • Electric oil pump removal and installation
  • CVT-ECU replacement

<When using M.U.T.-III>

caution If the engine was running before the start of this work, wait at least 60 seconds after the engine is stopped before starting this work.
The electric oil pump air bleeding conditions are as follows.

  • Selector lever position: P
  • Battery voltage: 10.5 V or more
  • Engine stopped
  • Line pressure: 0.5 MPa or less
  • The electric oil pump system is not malfunctioning.
1.Move the selector lever to the "P" range.
2.Check that the ignition switch is in the OFF position, then connect the M.U.T.-III.
3.
caution Do not start the engine.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
4.On the M.U.T.-III, select "Bleed air from electric oil pump", then execute.
note
  • During air bleeding, the shift position display on the combination meter goes from "P" to "A".
  • The air bleeding can take approximately 40 seconds to complete.
  • When it is complete, the CVT-ECU air bleeding status is reset.
5.After air bleeding ends, check that "Waiting completion judgement" is displayed for data list [No. 62:Electric oil pump air bleeding status].
If "Waiting completion judgement" is not displayed, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and repeat the procedure from Step 1.
note
  • After air bleeding completes, the shift position display on the combination meter goes from "A" to "P".
  • If any of the above air bleeding conditions stops being met, the shift position display on the combination meter alternates between "A" and "P".
6.Start the engine, and then wait 10 seconds.
7.
caution Do not start the engine.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, and then turn it to the ON position (engine stopped) and wait 60 seconds.
8.Check M.U.T.-III data list [No. 62: Electric oil pump air bleeding status]. If "Completed" is displayed, the work is complete.
If "Completed judg wait" is displayed, repeat the procedure from Step 7.
If "Fail (Timeout)" is displayed, repeat the procedure from Step 1.

<When not using M.U.T.-III>

1.Make the vehicle actually travel.
2.Stop the vehicle and make the AS&G system operate.
3.After the vehicle travels again, stop it and turn the ignition switch OFF.(Depends on the air bleeding control* when the ignition switch is turned OFF).
note *: If it is detected that operation of the AS&G system causes the line pressure to drop during idle stops, after turning OFF the ignition after travelling, the electric oil pump is operated for the prescribed duration.
