INSPECTION PROCEDURE
C-3: Hazard lamp answerback of dead lock system does not work normally.
caution
Whenever the ECU is replaced,
ensure that the input and output signal circuits are normal.
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If the hazard warning lamp works normally, the ETACS-ECU may be defective.
PROBABLE CAUSES
Defective turn-signal lamps
Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
Damaged harness wires and connectors
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check the operation of the hazard warning lamp.
Check that the hazard warning lamps illuminate normally.

Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Refer to GROUP 54A, Inspection Procedure 1 "The hazard warning lamps do not illuminate ".
STEP 2. Check the operation of the dead lock system.
If the dead lock system is operated, check that the doors can be dead locked normally.

Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Refer to troubleshooting .
STEP 3. Check the power supply circuit.
When the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK (OFF) position, check if the hazard warning
lamps illuminate.

Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Refer to GROUP 54A, Malfunction of ETACS-ECU power supply circuit .
STEP 4. Retest the system.
Check that the dead lock hazard lamp answerback function works normally.

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to use
