PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics.


Use M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2
Repair the CAN bus lines (refer to Group 54C - Troubleshooting ).

STEP 2. Recheck of the SRS warning lamp


(1)Connect the negative battery terminal.
(2)Ignition switch: ON

Q. Does the SRS warning light illuminate for approximately 6 to 8 seconds and then go out after the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position?

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Go to Step 3

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III actuator test


Use M.U.T.-III to perform the combination meter actuator tests.

Q. Does the SRS warning lamp turn on and off normally?

Go to Step 4
Replace the combination meter (Refer to GROUP 54A - combination meter ).

STEP 4. Check the diagnosis code.


After erasing the diagnosis code memory, check the diagnosis code.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Troubleshoot for the relevant diagnosis code. (Refer to .)
Go to Step 5.

STEP 5. Recheck of the SRS warning lamp


Q. Does the lamp stay ON?

Replace the SRS-ECU (Refer to ).
This diagnosis is complete.
