Inspection Procedure 3: The screen is not normal in the navigation mode. (The own vehicle mark is dislocated.)
caution
Before replacing the multivision display, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit, and the communication circuit are normal. (Check that the voltage is 10 V or more.)
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
There is a failure in the wiring harness between the combination meter and the multivision display, the GPS antenna, the respective connector(s), the combination meter or the multivision display.
note
If the vehicle speed signal has a problem, the speedometer of combination meter will be affected. Confirm if the speedometer of combination meter works normally at the abnormal state to customers.
When the own vehicle mark position becomes deviated when travelling backward, a problem may be present to the reverse signal from the inhibitor switch to multivision display. In this case, check if the rear view camera is operating normally. If there is a problem, troubleshoot the rear view camera.(Refer to .) Subsequently, carry out this troubleshooting.
PROBABLE CAUSES
Malfunctions of GPS antenna
Malfunctions of combination meter
Malfunctions of multivision display
Damaged harness wires and connectors
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Confirmation in MMCS service mode
Check the items below in the MMCS service mode (Refer to ).
Perform "Communications &
Connection Check" in the MMCS service mode to check that the communication and wire connection with the GPS are in good condition.
Perform "Vehicle Signal Check", and then check the status of the vehicle speed signal.
Perform "Sensor Check", and then check the status of the vehicle speed sensor and the gyro sensor.
Q.
Is the check result normal?
YES (OK for all) : Go to Step 5
NO <GPS is not OK> : Go to Step 2
NO <The vehicle speed sensor is not OK, or vehicle speed pulse does not increase after starting from a standstill> : Go to Step 3
NO <Gyro sensor is not OK> : Go to Step 5
STEP 2. GPS reception check
(1)Start the multivision display.
(2)Press the "INFO" button.
(3)Select "GPS Information".
(4)Check if the GPS signals are received.
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5
Perform Inspection Procedure 5 "GPS signal cannot be received" (Refer to .), and then go to Step 5.
STEP 3. Check the speed meter.
Check whether the speed meter works normally. (Refer to .)
Q.
Does the speedometer work normally?
Go to Step 4
Diagnose the combination meter (Refer to Combination meter -
Troubleshooting ).
STEP 4. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in SPD line between multivision display connector and combination meter connector
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 5. Check of the troubles
Drive the vehicle for some time with the GPS signals being received, and check if the own vehicle mark is dislocated.
Q.
Is the check result normal?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 -
How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points -
How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
