REMOVAL SERVICE POINT

<<A>> THERMOSTAT REMOVAL

1.Remove bolts of connecting flange, and remove connecting flange with thermostat.
2.Turn thermostat 1/4 turn (90°) to left and remove from connecting flange.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT

>>A<< OIL SUMP INSTALLATION

Apply sealant to oil sump, and then Install oil sump.

Specified sealant: Silicone sealant D 176 404 A2

note

Clean sealing surface before fitting.

>>B<< THERMOSTAT INSTALLATION

note

Checking: Heat up thermostat in water.
Opening begins at approx. 85°C.
Ends at approx. 105°C.
Opening lift min. 7.0 mm.

1.Moisten new O-ring with coolant.

note

Always renew seals and gaskets.

2.Insert thermostat into connecting flange and turn 1/4 turn (90°) to right.

note

The brace on the thermostat must be almost vertical.

3.Fit connecting flange with thermostat into engine block.
4.Tighten securing bolts to the specified torque of 15 N·m.
