No operation of the door lock actuator or a malfunction of the tailgate lock actuator is suspected.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Confirmation of the defective door lock actuator or tailgate lock actuator


Q. Which door or tailgate is not locked normally?

Driver’s door : Go to Step 2.

Front passenger’s door : Go to Step 5.

Rear right door : Go to Step 8.

Rear left door : Go to Step 11.

Tailgate : Go to Step 14.

STEP 2. Connector check: C-315 ETACS-ECU connector, E-20 front door lock actuator (driver’s side) connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 3. Front door lock actuator (driver’s side) check


Check that the front door lock actuator (driver’s side) works normally. Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Replace the front door lock actuator (driver’s side).

STEP 4. Check of the wiring harness between the C-315 ETACS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 5, 6 and E-20 front door lock actuator (driver’s side) connector terminal Nos. 6, 4


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector C-129, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 5. Connector check: C-315 ETACS-ECU connector, E-08 front door lock actuator (passenger’s side) connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 6. Front door lock actuator (passenger’s side) check


Check that the front door lock actuator (passenger’s side) works normally. Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.

Replace the front door lock actuator (passenger’s side).

STEP 7. Check of the wiring harness between the C-315 ETACS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 5, 6 and the E-08 front door lock actuator (passenger’s side) connector terminal Nos. 6, 4


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector C-114, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 8. Connector check: C-311 ETACS-ECU connector, E-12 rear door lock actuator (RH) connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 9.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 9. Rear door lock actuator (RH) check


Check that the rear door lock actuator works normally. Refer to GROUP 42A - Door .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 10.

Replace the rear door lock actuator (RH).

STEP 10. Check of the wiring harness between the C-311 ETACS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 6, 9 and the E-12 rear door lock actuator (RH) connector terminal Nos. 6, 4


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector D-30, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 11. Connector check: C-311 ETACS-ECU connector, E-26 rear door lock actuator (LH) connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 12.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 12. Rear door lock actuator (LH) check


Check that the rear door lock actuator (LH) is in good condition. Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 13.

Replace the rear door lock actuator (LH).

STEP 13. Check of the wiring harness between the C-311 ETACS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 6, 9 and the E-26 rear door lock actuator (LH) connector terminal Nos. 6, 4


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector D-23, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 14. Connector check: F-13 Tailgate lock actuator connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 15.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 15. Tailgate lock actuator check


Check that the tailgate lock actuator is in good condition. Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 16.

Replace the tailgate lock actuator.

STEP 16. Resistance measurement at F-13 tailgate lock actuator connector


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Measure the resistance between the F-13 tailgate lock actuator connector terminal No. 2 and the body earth.
OK: Continuity (less than 2Ω)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 18.

Go to Step 17.

STEP 17. Check of the wiring harness between the F-13 tailgate lock actuator connector terminal No. 2 and the body earth



Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 18. Connector check: C-311 ETACS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 19.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 19. Check of the wiring harness between the C-311 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 1 and the F-13 tailgate lock actuator connector terminal No. 1


Check the input/output line for open circuit.
note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check D-12 intermediate connector, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?
