INSPECTION PROCEDURE 11: Lock Switch (tailgate) does not Work.



caution Before replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.














PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code


Check whether a KOS-related diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Refer to .

Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Connector check: C-104 KOS-ECU connector, F-10 Lock switch (tailgate) connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 3. Check the wiring harness between the C-104 KOS-ECU connector terminal No. 22 and the F-10 lock switch (tailgate) connector terminal No. 1, and between the F-10 lock switch (tailgate) connector terminal No. 2 and the earth.



note Before the wiring harness inspection, inspect C-36 and D-12 intermediate connectors, and repair them if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 4. Lock switch (tailgate) check


Check that the lock switch (tailgate) is normal (Refer to GROUP 42A - Tailgate handle and latch ).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.

Replace the tailgate lock release handle.

STEP 5. KOS communication test


Using M.U.T-III, perform the antenna communication test to check that the exterior transmitter antenna (tailgate side) is normal (Refer to ).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.

Perform troubleshooting for the diagnosis code No. B240C (Refer to ).

STEP 6. Check of the troubles


Operate the lock switch (tailgate) to check that the tailgate can be locked.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Deal with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Replace KOS-ECU and register the ID codes (Refer to ).
