Code No.B2414 Unlock sensor fail

caution
  • If the diagnosis code No. B2414 is set, diagnose the CAN bus lines.
  • When replacing the ECU, always check that the communication circuit is normal.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION

If KOS-ECU detects an abnormality in power supply of the unlock sensor, KOS-ECU sets the diagnosis code No. B2414.

JUDGEMENT CRITERIA

If an abnormality in power supply of the unlock sensor is detected when power supply of it is turned on, KOS-ECU determines that there is a problem.

PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics

Use M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ). On completion, go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Connector check: C-104 KOS-ECU connector, E-19 Unlock sensor (front door: LH), E-06 Unlock sensor (front door: RH)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 3. Check the wiring harness between the C-104 KOS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 24 <LH drive vehicles>, 25 <RH drive vehicles>, 36 and the E-19 unlock sensor (front: LH) connector terminal Nos. 4, 2.

Check the power supply and signal wires for open circuit.
note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector C-129 <LH drive vehicles>, C-114 <RH drive vehicles>, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 4. Check the wiring harness between the C-104 KOS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 25 <LH drive vehicles>, 24 <RH drive vehicles>, 36 and the E-06 unlock sensor (front door: RH) connector terminal Nos. 4, 2.

Check the power supply and signal wires for open circuit.
note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector C-114 <LH drive vehicles>, C-129 <RH drive vehicles>, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 5. Replace the unlock sensor, and check whether the diagnosis code is reset.

(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace KOS-ECU and register the ID codes (Refer to ).

Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Deal with Intermittent Malfunction ).
