INSPECTION PROCEDURE 2: The rear wiper does not stop at the specified park position.











caution Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the input and output signal circuits are normal.


COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


The rear wiper motor or the ETACS-ECU may be defective.

PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Defective rear wiper motor
  • Malfunction of ETACS-ECU
  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check the F-04 rear wiper motor connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 2. Check the rear wiper motor.


Refer to GROUP 51 - Rear Wiper and Washer .

Q. Is the rear wiper motor normal?

Go to Step 3.
Replace the rear wiper motor.

STEP 3. Measure the voltage at the F-04 rear wiper motor connector.


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure the voltage at the wiring harness-side connector.
(2)Measure the voltage between F-04 rear wiper motor connector terminal No. 4 and body earth.
OK: Battery voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check the F-04 rear wiper motor connector and C-311 ETACS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 5. Check the wiring harness wires between F-04 rear wiper motor connector terminal Nos. 2, 4 and C-311 ETACS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 8 and 4.


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector D-12, and repair if necessary.

  • Check the input line for open or short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 6. M.U.T.-III data list



  • Check the input signal related to the rear wiper operation.
  • Ignition switch: ACC or ON
  • When rear wiper is operating

Replace the ETACS-ECU.
