The ETACS-ECU determines whether the shift position is at "R" or not according to the
shift position signal which is sent by the Combination meter.

If the rear wiper does not operate continuously when the selector lever is moved to the
R position during the rear wiper operation, the shift position signal circuit or the ETACS-ECU may
be defective.

- Malfunction of ETACS-ECU
- Malfunctions of the wiring harness and connectors

Check that the rear wiper system works normally by operating the rear wiper switch.
