Code No.B1034, B1035: Outside thermo sensor system



POSSIBLE CAUSES











COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


This code is set when the outside thermo sensor circuit is short (Code No.B1034) or is open (Code No.B1035).

POSSIBLE CAUSES



  • Malfunction of the outside thermo sensor
  • Damaged the wiring harness and connectors
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Connector check: A-44 outside thermo sensor connector and C-312 ETACS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Repair the connector.

STEP 2. Check the wiring harness between A-44 outside thermo sensor connector (terminals 1 and 2) and C-312 ETACS-ECU connector (terminals 7 and 14).



  • Check the sensor signal line and earth line for open or short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the connector.

STEP 3. Check the outside thermo sensor

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Replace the outside thermo sensor.

STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset


Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the ETACS-ECU.
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
